Wind
and Fire are energy in motion. Here they symbolize dual energies experienced during the exercise of leadership, particularly
transforming leadership. A leader must be confident, but also humble. A leader
must be persuasive, but also listen to the needs of others. A leader must maintain focus on a
set purpose, but must also remain open to change. A leader must set
limits, but also reach across boundaries.
Effective leaders recognize the presence of these dualities
and accept the conflict they can bring about while leading. They understand the
effort to effectively utilize power and exert influence is a journey
filled with trial and error, failures and triumphs, and everything in between.
They accept their role as a flawed but noble hero of sorts, pursuing a quest that seems
so very personal, and yet has been experienced by many others before them.
